May sweeps is just around the corner and will offer a very special treat for “Days of Our Lives” fans.
For months, we’ve awaited Matthew Ashford’s five-episode return as Jack and it looks like one of those episodes will be devoted entirely to Ashford and Melissa Reeves, the actors who made us first fall in love with Jack and Jennifer more than 25 years ago.
Poor Jennifer Rose has been battling a prescription drug addiction since January. As her life turns darker, she reaches rock bottom. It’s something we never expected for a character like Jen, but it just shows addiction can hit anybody.
When Jennifer finally reaches that deep, dark point, Ghost Jack will be by her side to help guide her. Earlier this month, the actress told TV Insider that DAYS will devote an entire episode to Jennifer and her beloved Jack, a fan treat that seems like a tease.
No matter how hard she tried, Jennifer could never find another Jack. When he died, she and fans were heartbroken. The pair met back in the late 1980s when she interned at his newspaper, The Spectator. At the time, Jack was a scoundrel (and yes, former rapist) who had no faith in himself. Jennifer’s love turned his life around. Through the years, they had their ups and downs, but still remain one of the most popular couples in the show’s history.
While we won’t see them together for long, it may be just what Jennifer needs for closure and recovery. Seeing Ashford and Reeves together again may be just what fans need, as well.
