Many Days of Our Lives were up in arms yesterday when word arrived that head writers Dena Higley and Josh Griffith were told to put their pens down or keyboards away and stop writing.
The supposed orders definitely sound scary for the 50-year-old soap, but it seems there may be a very good reason for the writing halt.
DAYS tapes about half a year in advance and scripts are already written through September of this year. Perhaps this odd tape schedule is part of the contract negotiation and Sony or NBC want it to end. Continuity is often lost with so many shows taped in one day and stories often tend to exist in a bubble. A normal soap taping schedule could help with that.
And, now it looks like that’s exactly what’s going on.
