Drake Hogestyn Temporarily OUT at DAYS

It seems longtime “Days of Our Lives” vet Drake Hogestyn hasn’t been on the set since May due to a dramatic fall from a tree by his home.

The actor apparently suffered from internal bleeding that left him unable to work, according to Soap Opera Digest.

With DAYS’ long lead time, Hogestyn likely has many episodes in the can to air over the next few months. That means you probably won’t miss John on screen until mid-to-late fall.

Hogestyn began his DAYS career in 1986 as “The Pawn” who soon took the name John Black. Later, Marlena (Deidre Hall) discovered he was really her dead husband, Roman. However, a few years after that, the real Roman returned relegating Hogestyn’s character to John Black status once again.

This year, John finally found his real parents. He soon discovered his father was a crazed old man named Yo Ling who belonged to an Illuminati-like underground Korean crime organization.

There’s no word on how DAYS will write John out. Soap Hub wishes the actor a speedy recovery, and we hope his time away from Salem isn’t too long.
