With Belle taking on a whole new personality on Days of Our Lives, it looks like she’s left poor Shawn-D (Brandon Beemer) in the dust. He may have wanted to try again, but she made it pretty clear she’s not the woman he married and Shawn finally had to face some facts.
This week he asked out Lani (Sal Stowers) seemingly because she was just sitting there after yet another confrontation with Belle (Martha Madison). This may or may not go anywhere, but it may be time for Shawn to move on with someone, even if it’s not Lani. Soap Shows wanted to know if you feel the same and you let us know in no uncertain terms.
Out of nearly 4,000 votes, a full 73% of you definitely want to see Shawn with someone new. He’s a good guy cop, a good dad, and a legacy character who deserves some happiness. Clearly, he’s not getting it from Belle, so why not move on and test the waters in the dating scene. A new romance for Shawn may even help lighten up that dark cloud that’s been hanging over Salem for months.
A much smaller 19% seem forever loyal for “Shelle,” a longtime couple since their high school years. You think Belle will eventually get over her early mid-life crisis and see the error of her ways and Shawn should be there for her when she does.
The final 7% don’t care at all. You’re not at all invested in the character considering how long he’s been away and would rather focus on couples who’ve been on-screen continuously for the last several years.
