It turns out Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) is more diabolical than we ever imagined on Days of Our Lives. He started his Salem reign of terror more than 30 years ago as the Salem Slasher and ended last year brainwashing his own brother, Chad (Billy Flynn), into doing the DiMera dirty work.
Now, he’s out for revenge after learning Hope (Kristian Alfonso) killed his father (in a moment of complete insanity that was as out-of-character for Hope as anything she’s ever done). Hope thought Andre would enact revenge in a big way, but instead he chose a quiet way.
Before she and Rafe (Galen Gering) managed to frame him for murdering Stefano (Joseph Mascolo), Andre got a hold of Hope’s broken and vulnerable stepson, Chase (Jonathon McClendon), and encouraged him to embrace his dark side. Andre’s “advice” led to an out-of-control Chase raping Ciara (Vivian Jovanni), and Andre barely blinked an eye when he learned what his young protege had done. Now, he has the boy in hiding, but is he really on his side?
Soap Shows wanted to know if you think Andre will use Chase’s confession to blackmail the boy, and it turns out you have as little faith in the dastardly DiMera as everyone else in Salem.
Out of about 2,500 votes, a full 76% of you think Andre will turn against Chase as soon as its convenient and blackmail is on its merry way. Chase thinks he’s safe with his new friend, but he has no idea what he’s getting into. Also, thanks to Andre, he’s not even sure he did something wrong when he raped his stepsister. (Of course, Chase has his own issues because he made the choice to commit such a horrific act.)
A much smaller 15% actually have a little faith in Andre and think his “friendship” with Chase might soften him. He seemed to want the same thing out of baby brother Chad, but Chad wants little to do with his DiMera heritage–especially his deranged big brother. You don’t think Andre wants to harm Chase at all, but you’re definitely in the minority.
The final 9% don’t care at all. You can’t stand watching Chase and Andre together because they both make your stomach turn and you find yourself fast forwarding through their scenes.
