When poor Abigail enters some intensive therapy on “Days of Our Lives” cast today, fans will see a familiar face with actress Anne-Marie Johnson playing the role of her therapist, Dr. Robinson.
According to Soaps in Depth, Johnson makes her DAYS debut on Tuesday in the recurring role. Fans will recognize the actress from a number of primetime series, including “In Living Color” and “Melrose Place.”
It seems Abby (Kate Mansi) will be in therapy for the next several months, so we’ll be seeing quite a bit of Johnson as new Mrs. DiMera tries to regain her sanity and return to Chad, Thomas, and the life she loves.
“Abigail needs intensive care for an extended period of time,” Johnson told Soaps In Depth. “But Dr. Robinson is on that ride with Abigail throughout the duration.”
Abigail suffered a psychotic break recently after Batty Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) broke into her home, wanting both her and baby Thomas with him. After he held her in a cabin for what seemed like weeks last fall while she suffered in pre-mature labor, Abby finally lost it and attempted to burn him in her bed the same way he tried to burn her and Chad (Billy Flynn) in the cabin bed.
After she ran away with Thomas last week, Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Chad finally convinced Abby she needed to be institutionalized. With Kate Mansi leaving the show, we wonder if Johnson will be treating a different Abby when her role ends.
